Admissions Process: Next Steps

Step 1: Ask Questions & Experience the Mayfair Community!

Play dates are the absolute best way to check out Mayfair Co-op Preschool! Our membership committee try to host one play date, open house, or community event every month! Cooperative preschool is a great choice for parents who want to have participation in their child’s first school experience. Our parent board makes all the decisions for how Mayfair operates, and our parents serve as assistant teachers in the classroom. Visiting our classroom during a play date or open house is so fun, your child can move about at their own comfort level, while parents have an opportunity to chat with current Mayfair families. This is the best way to find out what it’s like to be a member of our preschool!

Step 2: Apply

Enrollment applications are available Here

Families are responsible for a non-refundable application fee. Our application is an opportunity to express your desired class, and your interest in year-long committee for serving the school.

Step 3: Acceptance into Mayfair Co-op

Once your application has been approved, you will also use our administration program, Jovial, to submit all additional paperwork and begin the background check process for classroom parents. Upon acceptance, families are required to pay their initial tuition payment by June 1 (equivalent to one month’s tuition). Any families who are not initially accepted should feel free to contact us with any questions or follow up items.

In August, every student is invited attend our Meet-the-Teacher event at the classroom, this can be so helpful for students who may be a little nervous about their first day of school! We also host an orientation meeting, a chance for parents to go over what membership looks like and a chance to meet the parent board. Board meetings take place monthly, and are open to every member!

Step 4: Enjoy!

Cooperative life is a rewarding experience for families, we are given the gift of becoming integral components in our child’s schooling and everyday life. While we all take our roles and responsibilities very seriously, we still want all members to enjoy themselves, and have fun. We hope you do as well!
